Hi All

It’s another busy weekend of races with the big event taking place in Kilnaboy County Clare on Sunday afternoon. It is of course the final leg of the John Buckley Sports Munster 10 Mile Series. We send our best wishes to our colleagues who are planning to spend Easter Sunday in the beautiful Burren countryside. Dont forget we have a bus for anyone still interested see previous posts

On Monday there is 10k race in Clonakilty beginning at 11am whilst the Boherbue to Kiskeam 4 miler goes ahead at 2pm. It’s a race that traditionally attracts a number of regulars from our club. Whether competing or training this weekend we wish all our members a very Happy Easter.

In other news, there won’t be any training on Monday due to the Bank Holiday, but training will resume as usual on Tuesday.
(NB.The development will now meet on TUESDAY @6 @ Community Ctr Hall and go for a run from there Danny)

Next Thursday evening April 12th (7.15pm), we have organised a pre race run around the Ballintotis 4 Mile course ahead of the race which will be held on the following Thursday. All Midleton AC members are invited to join the natives. Please assemble at Church Car Park just after 7pm. We will then do a short warm up before taking to the road. Please join us afterwards for a chat and a cuppa’ at the new Community Centre.

Our Big Race Is Just 4 Weeks Away
The Joe Hourigan Memorial Midleton 5 Mile – Thursday May 3
Our own race, the Joe Hourigan Memorial Midleton AC 5 Miler takes place on Thursday May 3rd. Please spread the word and encourage your friends, family, colleagues etc to either take part or lend a helping hand with stewarding or catering. This is the high point of the year from a Midleton AC and we need everybody playing their part to ensure it’s another success story. Yes every member can have a vital role to play. We need additional stewards this year – can YOU find somebody who can lend assistance on the night.

On Sunday week The Great Island 10 Mile Road Race takes place. Here is some info' from their web site – for more details, give Midleton native Eamonn Crotty a call, he would be delighted to assist with any enquiries.

LET'S SHINE SOME LIGHT ON THIS DARKNESS AND UNITE TOGETHER FOR THIS GREAT CAUSE

This years race will take place on April 15th @ 10.30am again for the benefit of the Irish Cancer Society, with special emphasis on palliative care. Taking in some of the most beautiful scenery that the Great Island of Cobh and Cork Harbour has to offer, the route also poses a challenge to the serious runner and occasional runner / walker alike while at the the same time helping cancer support. A 5km walk will also take place on the same day for those less inclined to run and who want to show their support. Make it a family day out in remembrance of those gone before you or those still battling this dreadful disease. This year the race also coincides with the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic so after the race you may be able to join in some of the events happening in the town on the day.
