Kilnaboy 10 The Burren A Magical Place

Helen Brings Home Glory for Midleton AC Again

In what were difficult conditions with a very strong wind from four miles on several of our athletes had great runs today in Kilnaboy 10 the last in the John Buckley Spring Classic Series with Marc Walsh being our first man home closely followed by John Carey who achieved a PB (well done John it paid off sleeping alone in the camper van overnight despite being treated by the landlord of the campsite to lamb chops for breakfast)
The first lady home was Margaret Jones who very narrowly missed out on the prizes then Helen Gilroy wh0 continues to improve with every race taking 2nd O/45 in superb style doing the club proud again.
Others who had good/great runs in what was a great day out all round included Sheila Buckley, Collette Barry, Danny Mc Carthy,Elaine O'Riordan,Mary B Walsh, Joan Mc Carthy and Marion Cotter.
Full credit must go to Kilnaboy AC who organised the day and Ballycotton Running Promotions who assisted by Mallow Ac provided the overall results.Full details should be available from the usual sources shortly.
Special thanks must go to Bernie Twomey who despite being injured and unable to run stood in the wind and the rain supported and encouraged all the runners home. Its people like this make the club the club it is.
