WEEKEND RUNAROUND

Sinead Keavney Wins Individual Silver In National Novice Championships
and Gold with the Cork Team which she led to victory as well.

What A Team What A Way to End The year.

Yes today Sinead Keavney took second place in the
National Novice Championships.
That is Second in Ireland.

What a day for our club and according to the experts the highest ever placing for a Cork athlete in these championships (Paddy Buckley former chair of Cork Athletics). for many the year. Sinead also led the Cork Team to win the GOLD.

She was supported by an amazing Midleton AC team of Siobhan O'Leary, Sally Drennan, Eileen Leahy, Louise Barry and Susan Fitzgerald.
In the men's race we did not have a team but saw some fantastic running from Edwin Cashman and Gerard O'Regan. These two men are examples to us all. They come out to support or run and likewise to Margaret Jones who stopped off to come in and support.

Sinead has a National Individual Silver and another with the Cork and Munster Teams but I do not know the colours yet.

Each and every one of ye who came out and ran Cross Country this year helped your club achieve this wonderful result and what a way to end our year.

Very special thanks to ye all I will not name names but ye know who ye are.
ps Special thanks to Ronan/Eddie and crew but  no one knows who you are except those that know. Danny

Wihout Team mates and Supporters There would Be No Winners

Simon Dec 17

**Note change of date from original calendar**
This charity race takes place in December each year. Unlike other races, runners must estimate how long the 5k route will take them and the closest to their time wins.  No watches allowed! Santa outfits optional.
Race starts and finishes on Bessboro Rd, just off the Skehard Rd. Registration takes place at St Michael’s Hurling Club in Blackrock from 9.30am with entries costing €10 for everybody. All proceeds go to Simon in Cork who do wonderful work all year around.
This is the annual Turkey Trot always a hugely popular race. Everyone has a chance of winning. You predict your time and the nearest to their time wins (No watches allowed). So this could be your chance of winning this year.
